The RM of Lac du Bonnet has an economy based largely on agriculture including small grains and oil seeds. Mining, forestry and tourism are other major industries in the region. The Tantalum Mining Corporation (TANCO) and Cold Springs Granite both operate within the region. Two commercial subdivisions exist in the RM of Lac du Bonnet: a quarter section of land not zoned industrial, is adjacent to the airport; the other subdivision contains twenty acres available for commercial use along Highway #11.
